Summer Solstice Wellbeing Retreat

Event Time: 18:00 / Event Location: Purecamping, Querrin, Loop Head Peninsula, Co. Clare

This Retreat is being postponed to a later weekend date… watch this space!

The sun stops (Grianstad in Irish) and so should you…

Take that breath with Trea and delve into deliciousness with Fiona on this Yoga and Vegetarian cooking retreat.

Vegetarian cooking will be the new norm. Let’s make it normal for you now…

Trea:

Settle into your cabin or bell tent and after you unpack, join me in the beautifully restored and bright Yoga room for some gentle Yoga and Yoga Nidra relaxation to help you arrive and connect with the space. We will explore the energising practice of Surya Namaskar  in synch with this Summer Solstice period. You will learn a breathing technique or pranayama practice and a short meditation that you can continue on at home if you like.  You will have both Yoga Nidra and Night-time meditation to help you settle into restful sleep in this natural peaceful setting. Before you go home, why not take in one of the Loop Head nature and heritage festival events in the surrounding villages.  Your rest and renewal is complete!

Fiona:

In the kitchen you will embark on a journey through Food with our retreat food alchemist,  Fiona. This will be a fun , interactive and informative  vegetarian food journey.  We will come together to create meals and snacks that are nutrient dense, seasonal and organic, and filled with  Love.

Wherever possible Fiona uses organic, fresh produce that has been chosen for its simplicity and beauty . Food is here to nourish and bring healing light to our bodies, to sustain and fuel us .

‘For me all food is sacred and the source, from which it comes, in whatever form, is to be honoured.

Please note: I am not a nutritionist but I do  have extensive knowledge about food and the vast value it adds to our lives. In 2013 I completed an intensive 12 week course at the world renowned Ballymaloe Cookery School.  My classes are about bringing wholesome, real food to the table – food that is simple and delicious to prepare. I love food that looks, feels and tastes beautiful.’

After the demo we will enjoy the delicious meals we have created together .. and you will receive a  recipe booklet with detailed recipes and lots of handy hints.

Prices:

Prices range from €250 to €260 for this 2 night retreat. This includes your recipe booklet and hopefully the skills to cook delicious and nutritious food, and a Yoga handout to help you to continue your Solstice Yoga program. FAQ

Q: Do you need previous experience of Yoga or Meditation before?
A: Absolutely not. Classes are adapted to the levels of all students needs.

Q: Do you need to be fit?
A: Not particularly. You might be recuperating from an illness and might need to use this weekend to get a deep and restorative rest. You can choose to lie in Shavasana if things get too much for you and that is absolutely acceptable and recommended.

Q: Would it be suitable for families?
A: This particular weekend is not really suitable for children as there is no specific program on for them and we would like to give the practice space over to adults on this weekend.

Q: Will there be other children on site (at Purecamping)
A: There may be other children on site staying with families that are on holidays here. It will be fairly minimal though as the school holidays are over and children are back into their school routine.
