At this time of the year, our woodland is bursting with sound. Join us to experience this cacophony of bird-song from the comfort of your tent, or take a walk through the trails at dawn (around 4-4:30am). Email email@example.com to make a booking. Numbers will be limited.
We will have a campfire going the evening before and will all be tucked into our sleeping bags nice and early to prepare for the morning wake-up call! Bring warm clothes, a camping chair and your tent of course. Small tents good as we will be camping together in the woodland. Usual camping rates apply.
The RTE Mooney Goes Wild article really sums it up:
“Each morning in May, as the first glimmer of light begins to break the darkness of European skies, millions of birds begin to sing. Each individual bird does this for two key reasons: to lay claim to a breeding territory and to attract a mate. The birds can’t know this, but to human ears the collective effect is like nothing else in the world.
The wall of sound which the birds produce moves like a great wave across the face of the earth, just as it has done without fail for millions of years, as our planet revolves and the line of dawn shifts westwards. It provides us with an astonishing insight into how our world functions, breathtaking and humbling in equal measure, as well as into the sheer diversity and majesty of nature.
Birds know no boundaries, and their songs have the power to connect us all in a unique way, right across the continent. As it moves from east to west with the rising sun, the Dawn Chorus represents a genuine shared link between all of Europe’s people, transcending national borders and cultures.”
Why do meditation?
Have you always wanted to try meditation? Have you been curious as to what it is all about? Have you been hearing how beneficial it can be to manage stress and anxiety? Have you been put off by previous attempts at a practice like this? Here is your chance. Open your mind and delve in to see literally what makes you tick.
Developing your own meditation practice:
We will have a number of meditation sessions this weekend giving you practical tips on developing your own regular meditation practice.
You will start the session with some gentle Yoga stretches to prepare your body for sitting quietly which is the first step in any meditation practice. There are well defined steps to develop the discipline to bring you to that quiet space and we will explore them in each session progressively.
Meditation has been proven to reduce stress and to improve the immunity of the body and the mind. Practiced regularly (15-20 minutes per day) it can bring greater clarity to your thinking and help you to gain perspective.
The Satyananda system of Yoga takes its practices from the Tantras (practices to expand (transcend) the human experience) and meditation practices are often preceded by Pranayama (Expansion of the Prana or Life-force). These practices will help you with focus and help you to move into the meditation space easier.
This meditation package consists of 4 meditation sessions of 1 hour each : €45 per person.
Treat yourself and the women and girls in your life with a camping weekend of Yoga for Women and girls, Partner Yoga, Yoga Nidra, Meditation for Women and Girls, Belly Dancing, Crafting, Women’s Wisdom Circles and sharing and a Vegetarian Food preparation demo by Fiona Cartwright who will be feeding us all for the weekend.
Accommodation will be a mixture of bell tents, cabins or you are welcome to bring your own camper van or tent.
Cost: €113.50 for an adult and €45.40 for a child. This includes the Yoga program and your delicious meals for the weekend. Accommodation is extra and you can book online or email us to share a unit with another family.

Q: Do you need previous experience of Yoga or Meditation before?
A: Absolutely not. Classes are adapted to the levels of all students needs.
Q: Do you need to be fit?
A: Not particularly. You might be recuperating from an illness and might need to use this weekend to get a deep and restorative rest. You can choose to lie in Shavasana if things get too much for you and that is absolutely acceptable and recommended.
Q: Would it be suitable for families?
A: This particular weekend is not really suitable for children as there is no specific program on for them and we would like to give the practice space over to adults on this weekend.
Q: Will there be other children on site (at Purecamping)
A: There may be other children on site staying with families that are on holidays here. It will be fairly minimal though as the school holidays are over and children are back into their school routine.
