Why do meditation?
Have you always wanted to try meditation? Have you been curious as to what it is all about? Have you been hearing how beneficial it can be to manage stress and anxiety? Have you been put off by previous attempts at a practice like this? Here is your chance. Open your mind and delve in to see literally what makes you tick.
Developing your own meditation practice
This is a session to give you practical tips on developing your own regular meditation practice. You will start the session with some gentle Yoga stretches to prepare your body for sitting quietly which is the first step in any meditation practice. There are well defined steps to develop the discipline to bring you to that quiet space and we will explore them in this session.
Meditation has been proven to reduce stress and to improve the immunity of the body and the mind. Practiced regularly (15-20 minutes per day) it can bring greater clarity to your thinking and help you to gain perspective.
Supported meditation group
Each meditation session (one every 4-6 weeks) will allow you to experience a new type of meditation or an added layer to the meditation that you are working on. The Satyananda system of Yoga takes its practices from the Tantras (practices to expand (transcend) the human experience) and meditation practices are often preceded by Pranayama (Expansion of the Prana or Life-force). These practices will help you with focus and help you to move into the meditation space easier.
This mornings session is in the Cheese Press, Ennistymon.
Join us in this peaceful setting on the West Clare coast for some deeply restorative sessions of:
Yoga Qigong Meditation Yoga Nidra Deep Relaxation
Facilitated by Trea Heapes and Kevin Copeland
Trea and Kevin will guide you through the day, nourishing your body with mindful movement and wholesome vegan food, nourishing your mind with meditation and breathing practices, so you can truly let go into the silent space. Be the observer to the happenings in your mind. When we begin to know our mind, we can let go of deep rooted conditioning step by step, leading to a more peaceful daily existence.
These silent retreats are planned to coincide with the Celtic wheel so that we can connect in with the cycle of life. The Celtic festival of ‘Imbolg’ marks the coming of Spring, which is Feb 1st.
After the success of our Autumn Wellness weekend last year, we are offering a similar retreat in the Spring time, giving you the opportunity to see the peninsula as it awakens after the winter months. Like nature, it is a time to wake up, energise and launch ourselves into life.
This is a weekend of Yoga, Qigong, Meditation and Relaxation with experienced teachers, Trea Heapes of Purecamping and Kevin Copeland, Tai Chai teacher and instructor. Both teachers have between 10 and 15 years of teaching each. These classes take place at the Purecamping outdoor nature retreat space, set looking over a fairy tale woodland with the Shannon and the Atlantic to the South and West.
During the weekend, you can soak in a seaweed bath in the luxurious setting of Kilkee Thalassotherapy centre and relax even deeper with a Head, Neck and Upper back massage.
Settle yourself with an aperitif and enjoy Hilary’s demonstration and talk on feeding yourself to good health. With all that sea air and body work, you will be ready for your delicious and healthy meal on Saturday evening.
Sundays exploration of the shore along Ross Beach with Artist and naturalist Carmel T. Madigan is followed by a hearty lunch before you head back home, hopefully inspired to care for yourself and have fun while you are doing it.
