After the success of our Autumn Wellness weekend last year, we are offering a similar retreat in the Spring time, giving you the opportunity to see the peninsula as it awakens after the winter months. Like nature, it is a time to wake up, energise and launch ourselves into life.
This is a weekend of Yoga, Qigong, Meditation and Relaxation with experienced teachers, Trea Heapes of Purecamping and Kevin Copeland, Tai Chai teacher and instructor. Both teachers have between 10 and 15 years of teaching each. These classes take place at the Purecamping outdoor nature retreat space, set looking over a fairy tale woodland with the Shannon and the Atlantic to the South and West.
During the weekend, you can soak in a seaweed bath in the luxurious setting of Kilkee Thalassotherapy centre and relax even deeper with a Head, Neck and Upper back massage.
Settle yourself with an aperitif and enjoy Hilary’s demonstration and talk on feeding yourself to good health. With all that sea air and body work, you will be ready for your delicious and healthy meal on Saturday evening.
Sundays exploration of the shore along Ross Beach with Artist and naturalist Carmel T. Madigan is followed by a hearty lunch before you head back home, hopefully inspired to care for yourself and have fun while you are doing it.

We will have a campfire going the evening before and will all be tucked into our sleeping bags nice and early to prepare for the morning wake-up call! Bring warm clothes, a camping chair and your tent of course. Small tents good as we will be camping together in the woodland. Usual camping rates apply.
The RTE Mooney Goes Wild article really sums it up:
“Each morning in May, as the first glimmer of light begins to break the darkness of European skies, millions of birds begin to sing. Each individual bird does this for two key reasons: to lay claim to a breeding territory and to attract a mate. The birds can’t know this, but to human ears the collective effect is like nothing else in the world.
The wall of sound which the birds produce moves like a great wave across the face of the earth, just as it has done without fail for millions of years, as our planet revolves and the line of dawn shifts westwards. It provides us with an astonishing insight into how our world functions, breathtaking and humbling in equal measure, as well as into the sheer diversity and majesty of nature.
Birds know no boundaries, and their songs have the power to connect us all in a unique way, right across the continent. As it moves from east to west with the rising sun, the Dawn Chorus represents a genuine shared link between all of Europe’s people, transcending national borders and cultures.”
