What is Glamping?

By / 3rd April, 2017 / Camping / Off

We don’t so much do Glamping here at Purecamping, we prefer to use the term, Cosy Camping. We are not really that Glamorous 🙂 but we do certainly provide top quality tents and cabins, cosy duvets and pillows and warm blankets to our guests. We also have a really good local linen service that ensures that we have lovely fresh ironed linen for our guests. We try to maintain clean working facilites at all time but are sometimes under pressure at our busiest times in the the summer. We are upgrading our toilet and shower block facilities this year (2017) providing Easy Clean surfaces to make our job easier and your facilities even cleaner 🙂

But … I did come across this nice description of Glamping which we do actually match, so, its official, we are a glamping site!! :

“It isn’t just about getting away for a time to be closer to nature and under the stars. It is also about visiting hospitality venues that are equipped to give their guests a unique, and often quirky, outdoor experience.” from Inspired Camping

Equinox gathering 2017

By / 21st March, 2017 / Instagram, Yoga / Off

Equinox at Purecamping. Labyrinth walk with hailstones … that’s a first  but lovely company … lovely fire … another spoke on the Celtic wheel marked in West Clare.  The Spring Equinox is one of the eight spokes of the Celtic Wheel of the Year. We have been celebrating these at the Labyrinth since Mid-Summer in 2015.

There are two equinoxes every year – in March and September – when the Sun shines directly on the equator and the length of night and day are nearly equal. The Spring Equinox marks the moment the sun crosses the equator from south to north. This happens on March 19th, 20th or 21st each year. The exact timing this year is 20th March, 10.29am.

Meet the ‘flower-pod’

By / 10th December, 2016 / Camping / Off

This is the latestcamping podcamping pod addition to the Purecamping offering. We will have the this van pod parked up on one of the bell tent pads this summer with an annexe attached to give an extra room out front. It will be perfect for a couple who want a bit more comfort than a tent. It will have lighting and a heater … fancy ! and a lovey view out over the Shannon.
